Houston Ghost Bike is a volunteer group that installs white bicycles as memorials on the sites which fatal accidents occurred involving motorized vehicles and cyclists. Donations of used out-of-commission bicycles are stripped of parts, sanded, welded, and painted to prepare them for a new life as a memorial for the families and friends of those who lost their lives while cycling. These memorials are gentle reminders to all, riders and motorists, to always be courteous and aware of others on the roadways.

HGB is always looking for volunteers to help with upkeep of the existing ghost bikes. If you have the desire to help, we need individuals with a vehicle who can transport a finished, prepared ghost bike and replace damaged, vandalized, or missing ghost bikes. HGB will provide the supplies needed. Please email us for more information.
